Join Amy Tan as she makes her first teaching appearance in Northern California. Help celebrate the launch of the Amy Tangerine collaboration with American Crafts! She will be teaching 2 classes and sharing some fun techniques that can be easily adapted to future projects. Even if you've never sewn before, this class can be just what you need to get started as Amy has plenty of tricks for beginners. If you join in for both classes, you will be given a grab bag of goodies worth over $20.
Saturday, November 5th 10:30am-1:30pm Reasons to Smile Mini Book + bonus Film Canister $65
Tons of goodies in the class kit can be used to complete a mini album and alter a film canister. Photo handouts are included with full instructions on some signature techniques. Please bring your basic kit to make a mini book of "the good life" you lead! Feel free to bring ephemera too. Also recommended are a paper piercer and healing mat as there will be just a bit of stitching involved.
If you have photos to add, sizes from 2x3 to 4x6 are recommended.
The kit itself is worth well over $50!
Saturday, November 5th 2:30pm-5:00pm 3 Layouts With A Twist $55
With a mix of some simple sewing techniques and fashion inspired finds, you'll create 3 colorful layouts and have plenty of leftovers to make more pages. You'll learn how to make fabric yo-yo's the easy way along with other tips and tricks to put interesting twists on all of your layouts. Photo handouts are included with instructions on a couple of signature techniques. Please bring your basic kit along with a variety of photos.
Recommended photo sizes for Layout #1 (Life Is Good): 1 - 4x6 (landscape). Layout # 2: 2 - 1.75x2.75 (landscape), 1 - 1.75X1.75 (square), 1 - 2x3 (portrait). Layout #3 (Favorite Things) - photos of yourself perhaps? or photos of some of your favorite things: 1 - 2.5x3 (portrait), 1 - 2.5x4 (portrait). Feel free to just bring a bunch of photos that you are willing to crop and trim.
Also recommended are a craft knife, paper piercer and healing mat as there will be just a bit of cutting and stitching involved.
